I am a canadian on a TN and will be marrying a US citizen in 3 weeks. I have had a consultation with a lawyer but I have some questions:
Changing my name: Can I go ahead and change it on my social security card, Bank Account, Drivers License etc before I go to the lawyer with the marriage certificate/license info? Is there some reason to not change my name till after I get my GC? What about my canadian passport? Should I wait till I have submitted my docs for my gc before attempting to get a new Canadian passport? Any reason not to change that till after GC approval?
Can anyone offer any advice on the 'logistics' of changing my name and doing the paperwork.
