Canadian Immigration?

Does anyone know if there's a conflict if you're a current asylee awaiting adjustment and you wanna immigrate to Canada?

Would there be any problems visiting the US afterwards?

You would lose your asylum automatically because you have obtained immigration benefits (protection) of another country. You will then have to obtain a visitor visa (now required of Canadian Permanent Residents) to enter the US and if they see your name against asylum, you would probably need to do some explaining.
Things would be much easier when you become a Canadian citizen. (although I have known of instances when US immigration gave trouble to Canadian citizens who were not of Canadian origin)

Thank you Lazerthegreat.

Hey Shamson, I think you should consider doing this too. It's a better country for crazy liberals like you and me. Plus, it seems like their immigration has their act more together than USCIS - a significantly faster processing time!

I'm trying to get a visitor's visa for an Iranian friend who's visiting europe.
How they get one without going back to Iran first?

From everything I know, that is close to impossible. You have to apply for visitor visas in the country where you are from. Sadly, the fact that he is Iranian doesn't help.
But of course do try all options.
Good luck!
