Does anybody know how long does the total
citizenship process take in canada once you apply?
How long to get a receipt and test date after you apply
for the Canadian Citizenship?
This info is for my brother living in Ottawa who does not
have internet access.

Depends where you live. Generally it takes 8 months to get call for test and 2 more months for citizenship. I applied on May 1st, appreared for test on Jan 4th and got citizenship by Feb 24th. I lived in Toronto

Canada has now centralized citizenship system and time is very much similar, it does not matter where you live. Only 1 month plus minus is general difference, depending upon scheduling of citizenship oath ceremony.But time mentioned in the previus post about 10 to 12 month is practically heppening at present.

However, if Ministry of Citizenship ask for police verification by fingerprints (only in very limited cases due to suspicion) then it can take longer. In general fingerprints are not requested but in future this may turn out to be standard procedure for Citizenship in Canada.
