Hello,
My greencard application is still at California's SESA, and got a waiver request for pattern of RIR recruitment recently. I know it will be a long way to get US greencard.
I am thinking of applying Canada's greencard concurrently as a backup plan. I have the second H1-B and 2 years and 3 months to go. I read the processing time for Canada's greencard is two years on average. The cost is about Canada$5000.00.
Is this a stupid idea? Is there anybody to apply two different countries' greencards concurrently? If so, I'd like to hear your experiences and opinions.
If everthing goes well..,
If my app. goes to DOL, it will be processed around Sep. 2004. If it will be approved, I-140 & 485 will be filed at the same time. I-140 will take six months, so March 2005. If >180 for 485, I will be eigible for AC21. If I file an app. for Canada's immg. now, it will be approved about the late 2005. It is still a brainstorming stage. I don't know what to do after 2005. Thanks.
