Canada Stamping Procedure

Hi all,

I am planning for H1 Stamping (First Time) at Canada. I work in Seattle, I was wondering did anybody know about prodedure to get VISA Stamping in Canada.

I have some questions?

1) How do i Get appointment ?
2) How can i get Canada VISA to enter in Canada?
3) How many days we can expect to stay in US?
4) Please share the experience in procedure?

1st H1-B stamp in Canada

Hi Maxwell_Prima,

I have scheduled an appointment (for my 1st H1-B Stamping) at Calgary, Canada for the last week of OCT 2005. I have already applied and obtained my Canadian Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) for this purpose.

Regarding your questions:
1) How do i Get appointment ?
Schedule an appointment (for H1-B interview) at the US consulates in Canada at this website: www.nvars.com
Also check the following website about information for non-Americans applying in Canada (www.amcits.com/foreign.asp)

2) How can i get Canada VISA to enter in Canada?
Once you schedule your H1-B interview in Canada, finalize your travel dates (plane tickets if required). Then prepare documentation required for obtaining Canadian TRV. Check this website of Canadian consulate in Seattle (www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/can-am/seattle/menu-en.asp?lang_update=1). Once you have all the documents, go in person to the location and obtain the VISA. (I went in person at 8AM and they gave my Canadian TRV at 11:30 AM on the same day)

3) How many days we can expect to stay in US?
I guess you meant "stay in Canada" instead of "stay in US". I have decided to leave the next day after my interview in the evening. I have a friend of mine who went to Vancouver and got his H1-B stamp at 3PM on the day of the interview.

4) Please share the experience in procedure?
I have not been to the interview as yet.

H1 B stamping in Calgary

Can anyone share their experiences for stamping in Calgary, Canada


My Situation:

F1-H1B approved. My lawyer did my H1 b processing through my undergrad degree becasue I didnt get my M.S degree by that time because I didnt complete my degree requirement.
Is that a problem with my H1 b approved on Bachelors degree If I want to get stamped in Canada.


Appreciate If you share the experience in Calgary

I did this same thing; apped for 797 based on BS and had completed MS reqs before joining employer.
later went to toronto to do the stamping; had both the original degree certificates when when going for stamping.
