I would like to sponsor my Canadian husband for Adjustment of Status based on our marriage (I am the USC). While he is eligible for an I-864W (he has over 40 credits of work with the SSA), the last year's credit of work hasn't posted yet to SS. I am afraid this may delay our AOS or cause a denial. Social security just told me that they most recent work credits will be posted "sometime this year."
My other options are:
1. I can sponsor him, but I have no income. We do have enough (cash) assets to meet 3X the povery limit. Is it risky doing an AOS with assets only and showing no income? This would be the easiest route aside from the I-864W.
2. I have several people who are willing and ready to cosponsor that could provide all of the paperwork needed to qualify as cosponsors.
Thoughts/opinions
Thank you,
Ladybug
