Can you have both valid B-2 and H-1?

Kind of a complicated situation....I got my B-2 stamped for 10 years in 1999. Then a few months later, came to the U.S. on a F-1. Upon graduation, I got a job who sponsored my H-1B. I'm wondering if my B-2 is still valid. Because I hate my job and want to quit but still be able to stay in the U.S. for another 3 months or so. Is this possible? Thanks.

Your B-2 is toast once you got your H1-B. So you will be illegal if you quit your job and if your employer cancels your H1-B.

The B-2 visa stamp is perfectly alive. Once you quit your job, you merely file an I-539 to request a COS to B-2. You can do this even if you don't have the stamp.
