I've only heard of getting NIW for primary care. I am in internal medicine, if I will be successful in getting a job as a hospitalist on J1 waiver, can I apply for a NIW as a hospitalist after?
Nikhil r ur talking about NIW or NIW for underserved area.
These are 2 different categories. Advantage over LC is that you don't need any job offer. You can self file and nobody can revoke your I-140.
Disadvantages-
For NIW -difficult to get it approved
For NIW-for under served areas- you have to work for 5 years in that area.
