Can we request INS to resend 485 receipt to us directly?

Just found my company did not file EAD with my 485 application. The company attorney doesn\'t want to send me a copy of 485 receipt. Is there any way to request INS to resend 485 receipt to me directly? Although my H1 doesn\'t expire until this August, I\'d like to file EAD myself for safety.
 
485 is your record and the lawyer should give you

a copy of the receipt.....You can apply for EAD/AP yourself and do it if you feel
you may need it.....You still have time.....
 
The problem is the attorney get paid by the company, not me

So they don\'t feel they are obliged to send me the receipt notice. HR people are also unhelpful. Is there any other way to get it?
