Can we leave USA after applying for Green Card?

I am sponsoring my mohter's green card. We applied for her green card in May. My mother completed her finger printing in June and her medical/biometrics in August. We have submitted all the required paperwork and the applications like, I-130, I-485/I-864EZ/I-693

My mother came to the USA on 19th March in her visitor's visa. Her I-94 card expires on Sept 18th. Her visa expires only in 2010. Can she leave the country at this time using the visitor visa? Kindly advise on when she can leave and what she will require to re-enter the counrty.

No. She needs an approved Advance Parole document (i-131) to re-enter the country.

if she leaves before this is approved, her AOS will be deemed abandoned and eventually denied.

Did you apply for I-131?

I do not really understand the question. Visa is needed in order to enter the country, not to leave it.
