Can we go to Canada (Vancouver)?

Hello All,

Just a quick question...

I'm a US Citizen (US Military) and live in Seattle, WA.

My wife is originally from Peru. We are going through the Immigration process right now. We are at the point where we have done the Fingerprinting and Biometrics and are waiting to hear what to do next (it's just been a month though). We DID NOT file for "Advanced Parole".

--My wife has a valid Military dependent ID card.

--She has a Peru Passport (still Valid)

--Her Tourist Visa has long since expired.

--She has a Peruvian Birth Certificate.

--Will any Immigration letters help us? (NOA's)

So, is there any chance we can still travel to Canada?

I am thinking NO, but she swears that we can...as a friend told her it was possible.

Thanks for any help on this matter....

Mike

An honest advise would be not to go. It would mean abandoning your AOS application and she could be banned for 3 to 10 years from re-entering US. She may actually be allowed to enter depending on the officer at port of entry but she will definetly have her application denied. The only way she can travel is with approved Advance Parole and even with that if her legal stay expired before you filed for AOS she may be banned from re-entry but her application will still hold good.
