If you get an RFE and submit the requested documentaion, can they still reject the documents?

What happens next? Do they deny the green card or they come back to applicant again asking for more proof?

Any ideas?

Yes, if the documents did not meet the requirements for what they were asking for. Do you believe the documents you sent are inadequate?

Either one can happen, depending on what they decide to do.

yes you can,you can get RFE to provide affidavit of support and when you submit it,you might get another RFE to provide last 3 year filed tax transcript from IRs

My first name was registered as nick name on the birth certificate.
I have never used that name anywhere else and always used my current name in school college, passport and GC application.

Now, i got an RFE on Birth certificate? What should I send? I am thinking they might question whatever I send.

What do you mean? There was a line on the birth certificate that said "Nickname: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX"?

Or is it that they listed a name on your birth certificate, and you think of that name as only your nickname because you never used it on official documents?

They gave my nickanme as my first name to complete the formality of birth certificate. Since they had not decided a name for me by that time. All other details like DOB/Parents name etc are correct and matches the passport.
Later for schooling, I was registered with the name I use till today. But I never realized what was done for BC since it was never needed till now.

What should I tell uscis?

Well, you may think of it as just a nickname, but it's on your birth certificate so it's your legal name in USCIS eyes, unless it's explicitly shown as a nickname on the certificate.

I agree...but what is the workaround now?
My parents and relatives can provide an affidavit saying that it is the same person, since parents name on certificate and date of birth/place of birth is same as on passport?
Can this be treated as name change?

Any suggestions please. Thanks
