Can we get Name check status from local INS?

We got FP2 done ealier in Manchester, NH (scheduled on 07/09, done today). I also asked the officer in this local BCIS office about my name check status. He looked at the file in computer, and told me that he could only see my fingerprint was cleared, but no name check status in the file. Is name check status available to local INS office?

I called FBI about name check status on Apr 30 and never got a call back. Faxed another request yesterday, let's see if I will get anything back.

in my case, yes, the officer at local office told me the status of my security check.

she did type something in her computer to get me that info though.

the reason why there is now a long wait for a reply from the FBi is because a lot of people hvae called about the name check when there was no reason to

for >95% of people FBI namecheck is not going to delay your case by one minute !! Please remember this!

I was the one that posted the FBI info-- with the request that people do not abuse it, and ruin it for others.

How do you know if your FBI name check is pending?

USICS will tell you, through senator/congressman or through status enquiry or at your interview when they don't stamp your passport.

please do not call the FBI namecheck # unless you have been told SPECIFICALLY that your case is pending FBI namecheck. It will not speed your case up to find this out UNLESS FBI name check has been requested and there has been a service error!!

with an RD of 11/2002, it is [very] likely that USCIS have not even sent a request to FBI for your namecheck yet, as your file is not ready for adjudication.

guys, please think of those with RD 11/2001 who need this information to find if their case has been lost etc!
