Can we file file another 485

Hello ,

Please help me. Here is my status.

We working on EAD now. My wife is a nurse and she passed all the exam and she is woring in hospital as an employe. I am the primary applicat and my wife is the dependent in 485 and it is in EB3 catagory and the Priority date is July 2002. As per the current flow I think it may take some to get the GC.


My question is , can we file another 485 behalf of my wife. Is it going to affect the current 485 since we are currently working on EAD?

Since the visa number is available for Shedule A Workers, she might be able to get the GC very quickly.

There's nothing in the law that prevents you from doing this. Check this out, we've already discussed this issue at lenghth.

If she has a filed or approved I-140, you can simply amend her I-485 to have it based on her I-140, and amend your I-485 to make you a dependent of your wife's. Much cheaper than filing a new petition.
