Rumor has it that, INS has been asked to review all permanent residence
application or Green cards issued in the last few years whether they be
Employment based or Family based. This is being done because there may have
been some aliens who may have been given GC in error. It is advised that
everyone keep all the paperwork submitted including Employment letters, Pay
stubs, Position descriptions for an extended period lest they come back with
any questions. It is advised that everyone be prepared to give any
additional documents if they are asked including employment letters from the
employer who sponsored the application for permanent residence. The INS has
been given unlimited powers to detain, deport aliens because of the current
situation.

This is nonsense!!

Any law is retroactive. Once it is implemented, then it is in effect
forever even though a mistake is taken. By the way, when people\'s GCs were approved, INS did not require applicants to keep all paper
work, then why should applicants be responsible to keep those
garbabe paperwork such as empployment letter.

Do not spread rumor, okay?
 
It might be true.....

It it better to keep the some important documentation, as we keep our certificates etc.
We must not underestimate the power of INS. There is clause to revert issued GC. Even if this is not a rumor it is better to keep the documentation.

I really don\'t believe it.I have just posted the mail(Infact mails I got it from 4 people) for info.

I don\'t see any problem in keeping the imp documents with us for some more time. Any thing can happen any time.

I saw one of my consultant\'s I 140 approved in 4 weeks(EB3). Do u believe this? There are cases of some of my friends
who were waiting for their 485/EAD Receipt notices and they got EAD\'s in the mail.

I do not want to spread any rumor or did before. I just want to share the info what I got, If it hurts I am sorry for that.

Even I got my GC approved and stamped. So I just wanted to have opinion of gurus like you guys.

This should cause extraordinary delays for future cases as INS will

spend all its time and resources in checking issued GCs and
bombarding them with RFEs etc !
