Remember last year July scenario. USCIS has alloted approximately 30K visas on July 1 and declared No visa available on July 2 !!
They might have alloted all available visas to some pending applications and will send approvals later. Lucky people will have lottery !!

This news might come as a shocker to all who are waiting for their I-485 to get approved.... looks like the Oct'08 bulletin might push the dates back to mid 2004 as it was earlier.
Infact DOS told CIS to hold on to the approvals for now and probably will move depending on the EB-2 ROW demand. If anything were to happen, it will happen in the last 2 weeks of Sept.

EB2 Visa numbers and LUD
Guys, Apparently, it looks like USCIS has allocated the available visa numbers to pending applications and there are none left for the fiscal yr ending Sep 30 2008.
Question I had was that how does one know if a visa number is allocated to one's file? Does one see a soft LUD? IN other words, if several thousand visa numbers have been allocated in the past 3 weeks, we will surely continue to see approvals over the next month, since we have definitely not had approvals in the thousands.
