can the principal applicant travel first

hi all
i would like to know if it is ok for the principal applicant to travel first then other members of his family will join him or her later.

Yes. All qualified derivative applicants can either "accompany or follow-to-join" the principal applicant. It's in the statute.
 
Yes but all family applicants must finish travel to US before expiration date of your visa
