Can the Committee members change what Legislators previously voted?

This Committee has the task of making compatible both (Senate and Representatives) voted proposals, avoiding contradictions and incompatibilities in the final text to be rendered to the President to be considered.I don't think they can add or remove what was approved
before the Congress, or am I wrong?

From what I know the committe members are supposed to make changes and remove things in order to make both versions of the bill compatible and present it as one consolidated bill. Changes are going to take place. Our only hope is that the immigration portion remains intact and is placed in the final version of the bill.

That doesn't seem neither rational nor compatible with a democratic system!
Suppose this paradox: all the members of that Committee from the Senate eliminate what Representatives voted previously and vice versa!
Or even worse suppose all the members of that Committee
agree to eliminate all previously voted and in lieu they add
something like " declare the war against xyz country"?

The committe members cannot add random things into the final version of the bill. Right now they have two bills, they will sit down and compare the two and consolidate. The final bill may or may not have all the provisions of the two bills. What portions of the two bills get left out or get a little modified before going into the final bill is what the committe members decide. That is my understanding.

Per my knowledge, Committee members edit/change within the range of subject to elliminate differences. Final draft will again vote in Senate and Congress. It may pass/fail as a whole. This is quick process, just voting and no discussion. After that President sign/or vito the bill.

we need following:

1. Commitee include 8001 and 8002 section in final draft.
2. Senate/House approve final draft of bill (Approval of House is critical)
3. President sign the bill

There are 90% chance that commitee will include immigration package
99.99% chance that senate will approve bill with immigration package
60% chance that House will approve it with immigration package
99.99% chance that President sign the bill

Priyargc, where did you get those percentages from ;)?

Actually we need ONLY Sec 8001 aproved. Sec 8002 is completely useless for most of us. It Deals with H1/L1 increases.

My country was destroyed by several crisis in the economy, no jobs or future!
I had to leave apartment to ex-wife.
I have to undergo a surgery covered by health insurance here, and if I have to go back no health insurance in my country would cover my case!
That country is Argentina
So, it is not funny for me!

Hi,
