can\'t get EAD at local INS?

Is this true that the local INS office no longer issue EAD since April 1?
I live in Dayton, OH and my local office is located in Cincinnati.
If that is true, I have to send the application to Nebraska.
If so, how long does it take to get EAD?

Does anybody have any information about this?

Thank you...

No Title

I am also from Ohio. I went through the INS website for the procedure to apply for EAD First-time or renewal at the Cleveland, OH INS office and it looks like they have stopped accepting EAD application in person. They say that you have to apply my mail. Once they receive your application they will schedule a date and time for you to come personally to get the EAD. Looks like a fairly new procedure. I already have an EAD, I had applied last year, but it will be expiring in 2 months. I haven\'t decided yet, but most likely I will apply to the Cleveland, OH office my mail rather than go through NSC.

I am from Cincy, OH

In Oct 2001, I walked in Cincy INS office, waited about 5 hours to get the EAD cards. AT that time, both mail-in and walk-in methods were OK, I don\'t about the current policy.

Just a warning!

I am not sure about this.... but I heard that if you
process your EAD@ local INS office, the chances of
your case getting transfered to local office is higher.
As you guys know, it would mean a longer wait for approval.
