Can\'t get AP until 30 days prior to the date of your departure?!

Hi,

I got I485 notice, and my lawyer sent me the document for EDA, which can be done in Boston just walk-in, but no document for AP. she told me "you can only obtain the AP 30 days prior to the date of your departure", is this true?

They need Date of Travel. (Anticipated/intended)
Give them a date of next month.

Your lawyer is right. On AP application, you have to mention intended

date of departure, and that has to be within 30 days of filing for AP.

this is not right. i got my AP despite that i put down as unknown and uncertain as the intended date of travel and for how long. i filed for my AP along with 485 application. i am not sure what is the criteria (i.e. if it has to be within 30 days or whatever) when one files for AP separately and after having received 485 receipt.
