Can parents US visa be sponsored

Hello Gurus,

I am in my 3yr of H1B and plan to sponsor my Parents Visitor visa. They plan to visit me in March 2013 for 2 months.

I am reading conflicting information on the forum as well as external sites as to whether I can sponsor their visit OR it has to be self sponsored.

I would really like to show my SPONSORSHIP if its a valid option.

Yes, you can do that.Contact your company HR. I guess your parents will be eligible for visitors visa. You will need the documents from your company but your parents will need to apply thru US Embassy in India.

Compleyely bogus and wrong advise. Visitor visas are self sponsored and visitors need to qualify for visas on their own. Your employer's HR had nothing to do with it.

Where did I say that employer need to sponsor the visitor's visa? This is a completely individual sponsored. Empoyer's document of H1 holding son's will help in getting the visiotor's visa.

Anyway, this is a topic which is not my speciality. I am not here to argue on this subject. These are my just personal opinion and I could be wrong. Please use your discretion or consult your attorney accordingly.

You advised OP to contact his employer's HR. That advise is baloney.

I my self contacted HR of my company, x in 2005. I used to be on H1 those days. Company x had all law professionals in their department. When I asked for supporting documents for my parents, HR department of company x willing to help me providing supporting documents. Many companies who has H1 employees know what kind of documents can be provided for getting visitors visa for H1 employee parents.

if I do not know something, I will ignore and what is the need for me to comment.
 
Your H1 documentation has no bearing on your parents' visitor visa application. You are mistaken if you came to that conclusion.

I did not talk about H1 documentation. H1 holding employer will give the document which says that parents can live in US based on their son/daughter's financial/salary. This is a totally seperate document and has nothing to do with H1 documentation.

When I went to HR for this purpose, they just asked when are my parents are planning visit US. This is when I am on H1.

What sarwarmd is saying is that the company can provide something like a current employment letter which the parents can show at the time of interview.

Can anyone confirm if they were able to secure their parents/ relatives tourist visas using I134, pay stubs, bank letter as mentioned in some sites.
 
None of the items you mention are required for your parents to get a visitor visa. They only need to show that they have a compelling reason to return to India after their visit. Your financial situation, employment or bank balances are pretty useless for this purpose.

Children cannot secure visit visas for their parents. All visitors who acquire US visit visas qualify in their own right.
