can one travel on visitor visa after immigration?

Hello,
Please advise on this matter.
My aunt has visitor/B2 visa. She is considering to apply for family based immigration (in F-4 category, brother/sister of US Citizen), concern is whether will she be able to travel on her visitor visa afterwards or not? If she can travel, then would there be any problem at POE or not? How much backlog in this category do we have currently?

She can travel, but it will be harder to convince the POE officer, and even harder to get a new visa when the current one expires.
