I have a question for you guys again!.
About a month ago,I asked about the question on the N-400 application about "have you ever registered" to vote.
The fact is: I was registered, but have de registered myself, and have a letter also saying I never voted.

Would you guys think that on my interview day, would it be ok to respond to the question again as saying...- In retrospect,I would have said "NO" because I was by mistake, and de registered my name when I found out I was registered.

Would this come across as lack of moral character(lying)...?

Well the answer would still have been "yes" since it asks "have you ever registered to vote".

At the interview you would provide evidence that you de-registered and inform the IO you never voted. Registering to vote as a non-citizen does not count towards bad moral character, but voting does.

Can you tell us how were you registered? Automatically or what? Or did you do it yourself?

Hi BobbySmith,
Have you ever come across anyone who had similar situation?...

Personally no, but there have been numerous reports on this board and in the media of this happening. Many immigrants have automatically registered to vote when they obtained their driver's licenses not realizing that it is illegal for them to vote.

Yea didn't we not have to long ago someone that this happened to. He/She didn't know he/she was registered to vote and went back to the DMV and "un-registered"

Unless the jurisdiction actually allows noncitizens to vote in local elections.

Correct, you would have had to vote in violation of a law in order for it to count against you and lead to your deportation.

INA 212(a)(10)(D)(i):
"(i) IN GENERAL- Any alien who has voted in violation of any Federal, State, or local constitutional provision, statute, ordinance, or regulation is inadmissible."
