Can one apply for EAD renewal after it expired?

Can one apply for EAD renewal electronically after it expired? My spouse is not working on EAD right now, working on H1-B.
I just want to apply for EAD renewal.. My attorney says its ok to apply for renewal after the expiration of EAD FOR MY SPOUSE.

Can someone clarify on this? We have RFE on our 140 and it was responded on Jan'6th..
Are there any problems on renewing EAD while 140 is pending with RFE?

EAD and AP can be applied any time, even after expiry

You can apply for both but with an RFE on your I-140 they will not process it until the RFE issue has been cleared.
