Can my wife continue to work with her EAD in grace period?
 
What period are you calling grade period? She had an EAD, it expired, she applied for a fresh EAD and is awaiting that? In that case, no she cannot work until she gets her new EAD.

She has valid EAD. But After my program finish, we have 30 days for travel purpose. During that time, her EAD will be valid.

Can she work?
 
She doesn't want to let you down. She lied (I don't know why, maybe it was to save face, maybe it was to protect your feelings or maybe it was because she thought the truth would cause an argument) but she doesn't want to admit she lied because that would mean that she's let you down. She's hoping that you'll just forget about it so she doesn't have to be embarrassed.
