Hello everyone,
I had a change of status from F-1 -> H-1B earlier this year. I am going for my H-1 stamping to Toronto next month but after going throught the documents sent by the consulate, I came across something which can be a potential problem. (I hope not!!). It states that my passport should be valid six months beyond the intended stay in US which would be the expiry date of my H1 Visa. My H1B is valid until Feb 2005 but my passport expires in May 2004. The problem is that Indian consulate will not issue a new passport until one year before the expiry date so I can't apply before May 2003.
My question is whether this contradiction with respect to the expiry of my passport create any problems in Visa stamping in Toronto?
Thanks so much in advance!!
Anurag
