Hi,

I have a friend who applied for gc a while ago. He and his wife has the EAD on the GC process. Can their kid also get an EAD to work in a grocery store or something on the GC process?

The kid doesn't even have a SS card... is it acquired after EAD or is it even necessary?

Thanks,
Niti.

Yes, They can get EAD if their AOS application is pending

SS# Required for work.
My Son got his EAD June-2003 (16 years old)
then we applyed for SS Card then 2 weeks after he got it.

My Kids got Ead ( 9 and 11) I needed SS# for their college saving plans.

(Even small kids can do model work)

I applied for EAD for my 6 year old in order to get him a SSN so we can claim him on the tax's and get him health ins but we never renewed it as he never needed it for work purposes.

SS# is not required for tax filing. TIN should be fine. For insurance, if it is group plan then SS# is not needed.

Yes your Kid can!

I have 2 kids and just applied for their 3rdEAD last december. My lawyer didn't even asked us,when he first applied for 4 of us if we wanted our kids to have a EAD,he simply applied and we payed for it until he learned how to apply ourselves.
We are glad we did applied from the begginning and they were be able to get their SS#s.

In my opnion:Do it!

your kids do not need the EAD if they are not working my lawyer just said in order to get him a SSn just apply once then keep the 120 in my pocket on future filings
