Can my fiancee visit me?

I applied for a K-1 Fiance Visa for my fiancee (who lives in Germany) back in January. In April it was approved and sent to the Department of State for visa processing. They then send the approval to the US Consulate in Frankfurt. My fiancee received her packet from the Consulate and sent it back to them 2 months ago, but we still have not received any call for an interview. Since it has been so long, we were hoping to see each other soon. So I am trying to find out of she can visit the US as a visitor while the fiancee visa is still being processed. Does anyone know if that is allowed? Does she need to gain permission from anyone to do this? Or can she visit the US as a visitor (like any other German citizen could)?

Thanks in advance.

hello,

i am from germany and been in the same situation as you and your fiancee are, well my visa is done and i am already here, but i can tell you 8 weeks isnt to bad, i waited after send them everything back to the consulate in frankfurt like 13 weeks before i got the interview date. (Tell her to take lots of time for that) I was there 7 hours! Well as far as i know they dont like if the spouse/fiancee travels to the usa while the visa is in progress. I dont know what they say if you visit her in germany thou. But i got told not to travel to the us while its not done. So she might better dont. Wish you 2 the best and that everything will be done soon. I know how it feels to see each other only on the webcam...been there 4 years before the wedding and almost a year after it while waiting for the visa :( . Good luck to you 2..

just email me if you have any questions

Hello,

It is not allowed to visit the US while your Fiancee visa is pending on a visitor visa. If you intend taking up permanent residence in the U.S., you are required to wait until the fiance visa is issued. Your fiancee cannot reside in the U.S. on a tourist visa or visa free under the Visa Waiver Program while waiting the issuance of a fiancee visa. When traveling to the U.S. either with a visa or visa free under the Visa Waiver Program, you should be sure to carry with you for presentation to US immigration evidence of your residence outside the US. If the USCIS inspector is not convinced that your fiancee is a bona fide visitor for pleasure, she will be denied entry into the US.
