I am an asylee, filed for my family derivative asylee status in October 2001.Receipt says it takes 165-195 days to process which has expired ,filed expeditous request in March 2003,got no reply from INS .But the situation is getting worse for my family by day.We have twin daughters(2yrs) and these are being forced to leave in fears because of political repression in my country.Checked the INS website ,it says it takes 250-280 days to process this kind of case, called Ins and they confirmed that the times on the web are the correct ones and they keep on ballooning, with no hope of getting my case approved soon.So can I bring them in as visitors without problems from INS?,Any experience?Thank you.

I would appreciate very much bro Gilbert if you can elaborate on those people who have managed to expediate their I-730s.How did they do it?Did they use congressmen etc? Also can my family come saying they are visiting me?Anyone who has expediated their I-730s please help for my family is really stranded.

they generally need the help of a lawyer and/or congressman/senator. They need to prove that there is a real emergency. Your first stop should be the office of your senator or congressman. Make sure you have a strong case.

Expediting I-730

Can you imagine this .I tried it with my congressman and he said they can not do it b/cause there is no law that allows it.He was just saying BCIS were working on some procedures the time I sent in my application and they are still working on those procedures. So it will take another 3-4 months. This is horrible news and disappointing.Has anyone experienced this especially those who could have tried expedition recently.
