I and my wife both hold valid H1B work permits. We came to the US a couple of years back and converted our J1 status to H1B work permits last year. We have not gone to India since then. We are going to India early next year around February 2006 and we need to get our H1B visas stamped in our passports for the first time.
The PROBLEM is that I am from Kerala and she is from Uttar Pradesh and hence belong to two different consular jurisdictions. Since we will be in Delhi for the first two weeks, Will it be possible for both of us to apply together for our individual H1B stamping at the New Delhi consulate instead of going to Delhi and Chennai consulates individually? I have not been getting any help from either consulates regarding this issue. So I am very worried.
