Can immigrations cancel the process after biometrics taken?

I got my biometrics taken,and they asked for updated financial status.. my husband doesnt have the money for 2010 and we have trouble finding a joint sponsor.Are they gonna cancel the process now and we have to pay all over again if we wanna apply again???? we filed in November and now the case is frozen i believe, the lawyer is saying we have 3 weeks to find a joint sponsor or immigrations will cancel everything.. please help me!
 
You are using the wrong terminology. Since you are talking about fingerprints, you must be taliking about adjustment of status. If the I-864 is insufficient, then, the I-485 will be denied and if you have an EAD and advance paorole, they will be cancelled.

Are you attempting to adjust as a spouse of a USC? How did you enter the U.S. and when?
 
Nuthing is canceled yet. I entered the U .S with a J 1 visa.. i was on my 4th J1 visa..then we got married and applyed in November and my husband was my sponsor ... everything was fine ,he got the money to sponsor me based on his w2s for 2007 2008 2009...i got my fingerprints taken..and we were waiting for the interview letter... because we are in the new year, they want an update for our financial status in 2010... he didnt make enough money last year to qualify as my sponsor, so we need a joint-sponsor. They are threatining to cancel the entire immigration process (wich is paid for already) and make us restart and pay again.
