I recently joined a consulting company in canada and I am working on a project for a client in US. My company wants me to travel to US for a week to meet with clients key persons, and attend few meetings. The meeting agenda is to understand the scope of work and the different systems involved. I have a B1/B2 and will be traveling on it. However, I have my doubts about whether I will be allowed admission to US on B1/B2 for the reasons mentioned above.

My question is that when I enter US immigration and state the reason mentioned above for entering US. If the officer determines that B1/B2 is not the right visa to enter US for the reasons I have mentioned above will the officer cancel my B1/B2 visa right away or will i have the opportunity to withdraw my addmission application

Meeting potential customers and attending meetings are perfectly fine for a B-1 visit.

That all depends on the officers at the PEO. You will be sent to secondary inspection if the first officer at the POE is not willing to grant you entry. What happens at secondary is all up to speculation.
