My 6 year H-1 will expire next year. My current employer filed LC so that I can extend H-1. Can I switch to another company? If so, what the new company needs to do for me? Thanks!

------ your employer filed LC for you for your GC or H1 extension and that LC has to be pending more than 365 days to make you eligible for 7th year H1 extension. BUT the employer can revoke your LC or can use LC filed for you for other employer, make sure he does not revoke the LC for you, if employer is ready to help only then change

---you can do it with H1 to H1 transfer, new company needs to file H1 transfer with USCIS you need to provide 2-3 recent paystubs and make sure the lawyer files H1 TRANSFER and NOT new H1, once you get the H1 transfer filing reciept from USCIS you can join
Thanks!

how can I be eligible for 7th year extension if I want to switch to a new company with 6th year H-1 expiring soon? Can the new company replace the LC filed by my current employer for my 7th year H-1 extension? The current employer already filed LC for my 7th year H-1 extension.

----You need LC filed by ANY employer more than 365 days and you need the evidence that LC was filed (SWA or SESA reciept that lawyer gets after filing LC)

Can the new company replace the LC filed by my current employer for my 7th year H-1 extension?
------- LC belongs to company who hs filed and LC is NOT potable to new employer, new company has to file new LC for you
The current employer already filed LC for my 7th year H-1 extension.
