Can I submit two I-485?

I filed petitions through EB2 and EB1 separately. For each category, I submit one I-485 concurrently with I-140. I was told by my friend that CIS only accepts one I-485 and will bullify the 2nd one. Can anybody comment on this issue? The problem is my EB2 I140 is approved and if CIS nullify this I-485, it's going to be a nightmare.

I140/485 (EB1) ND 1/14/04, I140? I485?
I140/485 (EB2) ND 8/31/04, I140 AD: 3/31/04, I485?

btw, you can always withdraw your 2nd 485/case if one is certainly (and irrevocably) approved (If EB2 that is approved is NIW... you may not want to withdraw the other 485...just a thought)..no 140/485 experience with CSC... so also please consider consulting with a few good attornies who you trust
(would be interesting to note: I submitted ONE 485 with eb1 and eb2...eb1 approved with understanding that 485 will be linked to it instead of eb2...however, few months later eb2 denied along with the 485!!!!. So I had to re-file another 485 and also file an MTR for erroneous denial of previous 485. Given my story, I kind of like the idea of TWO 485, if legally allowed and accepted by the service center)

rdip,

Thank you for your comments. My EB2 I140 is based on labor certification, which was approved. My EB1-OR I140 got RFE recently. I am thinking to respond because the I485 belonging to it was submitted 8 months earlier than the second I485.
