To immigration GURU:

Currently I have an I-485 application pending at Nabraska Service Center (sponsored by my previous employer). However, the current employer sponsored I-140 is approved recently. Is it valid that I can have two I-485 case at different service center and they are not interfere with one another. Or if the new one automatically voids the previous one I filed at the Nabraska Service Center?

Thanks A lot!

No you cannot, however ....

You cannot have 2 I-485s filed as primary at the same time. In some cases you can have 2 I-485 applications (using same A#s) as primary and derivative.

But, if you have a second set of approved LC and I-140: you could substitute the current LC and I-140 in your existing I-485 application with the second LC and I-140 (while maintaining the same I-485 application). Thus, you would be 'changing the basis of adjustment' (interfiling I-485). You can do so if you think your current LC/140/485 combination would have trouble getting approved for any reason. Moreover, you would also save time (by maintaining the same RD/ND) and money (by not filing 485/ EAD/ AP again).

You need Lawyers Advise

For such complex situation why don't you get professional help from a lawyer? Do you prefer to take advise on what people would comment ?

I would never take that risk. Be wise and do justice to your self.

Your situation is not common with people who browse this portal, unless some one who is actually in the situation and taking some action on lawyer's advise.

Please don't misunderstand, I just want that you should get what you want, I mean your GC. Don't put yourself in a difficult situation and then consult a lawyer to come out of it.
I hope you understand what I Mean !!!
If not , please consult a doctor first .......just kiddin :)

All the best,

All situations are different

Advice here is general in nature and should be verified with an attorney before acted upon. This forum is helpful (I've used it for years and I have learned alot from it) but there are limits to the imformation that can be conveyed and the answers to some situations change based on one fact that seems a bit minor. There is also a higher probability of a misunderstanding.
