Can i stay in the US as a student after my visa expires?

Hi. I arrived here on an F1 visa. I am pursuing an undergraduate course which is for 2 years. I am looking to transfer to a university after 2 years to complete my Bachelor's degee? If i transfer to a university, can i stay in California after my visa expires after 2 years?

if the new university issues you a new I-20 and transfers your record in SEVIS, you can stay as long as you maintain your F-1 status. The expiration date on your F-1 visa is irrelevant.

yes, as long as her I-20 is unexpired and she has maintained her F-1 status all the time.

the only problem you will have is if you want to leave the country... You won't be able to re enter if you don't get a new visa in your country.

nobody can reenter if they don't have a visa (or visa waiver).
