Hi all:

I'm new to this forum and am very excited over the wealth of information it provides. Can someone suggest for a newbie if I can begin conversion of my Labor Certification from Traditional Recruitment to Reduction in Recruitment if the ETA Case Number status is shown as "IN PROCESS"?

Thank you in advance...

Yes you certainly can. Please read this document for more details - http://www.workforcesecurity.doleta.gov/foreign/pdf/backlog_faqs_10-06-06.pdf

"...There is no specific date by which an employer or their agent may request RIR conversion. However, by regulation, once the BEC has posted the job order to begin the recruitment process, the application is no longer eligible for RIR conversion..."

Mine has been 'in process' for the past few months now. I contacted my employer's lawyer in December last year and have initiated the conversion process (manager's approval, 20 day postings, prevailing wage paperwork etc.). We hope to submit the final conversion package sometime next week.

Good luck.

jwdkhan, thanks a lot! I'm definitely new to all this (although my Green card has been applied for quite a long time ago :( ).

Can you please explain what "pattern of recruitment" did you use? Did you advertise it somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
