can i start K3 application now if I'm getting married in 2 months?

I am a US citizen, engaged to be married outside the country in 2 months. Can I start the application for K3 now? I was thinking that I could do my part of the petitioning for the visa while I am here in the US. Then I could go to my wife-to-be's country and get married and help her with her paperwork there. This would also save time. Is it allowed??

No.
You MUST be married before you send the paperwork (and have proof of the marriage) otherwise your paperwork will be rejected.
