Can I reapply AP if first one is pending? Please help

Please let me know if someone can apply for AP in person while one is pending?
My company lawyer applied for AP last Friday, but I heard you can go in person at a local USCIS application support center and request AP showing emergency medical document. My friend's wife got AP in one day.

Can I reapply for another AP in person hoping to get fast approval? or will it further invalidate both my applications for AP if they found later.
My father is quite sick and I would like to get an AP as soon as possible.

Please let me know if anybody did that

Here is our experience in the year 2003 - 2004:

My son applied for his AP and TSC misplaced the application. After numerous followups in vain for almost one year, he applied again for AP. (My attorney told us there is legally no bar on applying for a second AP when the first AP was pending and USCIS will be only too happy to receive the additional dollars). TSC approved the second AP in less than 2 months. After that TSC managed to locate the first AP application and send us a few more copies of the same AP. In short we paid twice for getting multiple copies of the same AP that too after wasting one year.
Due to the inefficient TSC, my son lost one year of schooling in India :mad:
My "wise" attorney never bothered to advise us correctly during the one year wait :mad:
 
reapply ead when one is pending

i have same question as hopeofgc can we reapply ead when one is pending. infact the first one has got rfe. i appled 120 days in advance and rfe on 50th day so i have abt 70 days to get in 2nd ead and pray for approval. do not know what the rfe is about.
