Can I prepone my FP in Dallas ASC? We tried. Success.

Is it possible for me to prepone my FP at the Dallas ASC?
I got FP notice for Sept. 8, 2007 and I am going to be out of the country on business. Hence, the need.
If it doesn't work, I will have to postpone by rescheduling.
Please advise.
Thanks.

If you have your FP appointment letter then yes it should work. I have read posts where people have taken their appointment letter to their appointment center and they did the FP before their appointment date (after a little explanation).

It is better to try than missing it completely.

All the best.

thanks... will definitely try

Thanks, PERMuser.
I was thinking of going tomorrow, but will give a try on Wednesday.

what time should I walk in?

Any ideas as to what time can we do the walk-in thing?
I was thinking of arriving there by 8 am tomorrow but am not sure whether it is less, or more busy in the mornings.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Experience at Dallas ASC walk-in

We went there this morning at about 8:30am, and explained my situation of traveling out of the country on business.
The lady at the gate asked for confirmed itinerary / tickets, and we had an itinerary with us. It was only for myself as I am the only one going.

She said that she will ask the supervisor but was not willing to accept my wife for FP. She then said that since she is there already, she will ask the supervisor.
Then we were asked to wait and she came back and handed us the form to fill out for FP.
FP process was easy, quick.
Both, me and my wife, had to get multiple attempts at FP for certain fingers but overall no big deal. The actual process was about 10 minutes while the total turaround time from car-back-to-car was about 40 minutes.
The person who did my FP was so aware of Indians that he even said words like 'aaraam se', and 'shukriya'. Overall, a pleasing experience.

Hope this helps someone else looking for walk-in at Dallas ASC.

Came back and checked ... we had LUDs on our I-485 applications, which probably means that the FPs were uploaded and sent to FBI.

Now, the wait for results back from FBI, and most importantly, name check, and visa numbers.

Advance walk-in not accepted in Dallas

Just a FYI: I received our Biometrics notice yesterday evening for Dec 05. However since I will be flying out of the country next week, and do not return until the new year, we decided to try a walk-in today. I had read a few folks having successfully done advance walkins prior to their scheduled dates (as in the case of adekhne above). This was at the Dallas office [3701Northwest Hwy - Village at Bachman lake, 75220].

Unfortunately our walk-in was not accepted and I was given 2 options: either to reschedule by mailing in the original notices or to show up on any Wednesday or Saturday afternoon after I am back in the US (2 pm onwards) and they would consider our request. I was told the biometrics notice is valid for upto 3 months.

I have however decided to mail-in the notices and reschedule our fingerprints so that I have something in writing. Not worth driving all the way down there without any confirmation. Just wanted to share.

I had requested a rescheduling of our fingerprinting appointments to any date after January 01, 2008 (after I had returned from my visit abroad). However the fingerprinting notices were returned with a note saying they could reschedule upto only 3 weeks into the future, and suggested that we hold onto the notices and resend them after the second week of December.

My wife mailed them back by the middle of December and we received rescheduled fingerprinting notices on January 14, 2008 for appointments on January 22, 2008 at 3:00pm. Had them done yesterday without any incident. Needed the actual fingerprinting notices and driver's licences when signing in. We went in at 3:05pm and were last in line after about 14 folks. Took about 40 minutes from going in till coming out. There were 5 fingerprint stations, the fingerprinting actually taking less then 5 minutes.

Saw a LUD on our I-485 online case status later in the evening yesterday and another one today.
