Dear All,

Due to some circumstances I might need to postpone my scheduled April interview to June. Is it possible to postpone it by that length of time, ie. 2 months? What about validity of my medical and police certificates? How long are their validities?

Thanks alot in advance for any input from you.

Please keep one thing in mind, if you pospone it to June there are only 3 month left before DV-2008 ends. If you run into a background check which can take months you maybe rot in hell if it's not finished before September, 30

Thanks Tazmania. Although your prompt reply sounds kinda scary, but seriously it makes lots of sense. I'd rather be in heaven, no doubt.

But let's just say someone has to postpone it, how long is the medical valid? From some threads, it says 6 months, others 4 months. And one source said the medical has to be valid when we enter the US.

In my papers is written
You should schedule your medical appointment no later than six weeks before your intended date of departure to the United States, and no earlier than six months before your departure date.
So I would think its valid for 6 month.

sometimes you may not request a paricular month to reschedule your interview for. The consulate will schedule it for you when THEY have time to interview you. It could be in September.

Your medicals and police reports must be valid at the time of interview and at the time of your entrance to the US.

If that is the case, then I'd better be prudent to not postpone it.

Thanks alot Lucy, and Taz for your valuable info.

Since one of my police certs will not be arriving on the day of my interview, I called the embassy, and the lady said that I can submit all documents one week before interview, any time.

Has anybody experienced that?

You can do it, dont worry you will be fine. One from Macedonia do thet because he wasn't have I134 arrivet yet...
