Serious Question,

Any Celebrity seems to have the power to move anywhere in the world. Regardless of if they are retired or not.

I was wondering, If I had 10 million dollars, Could I ignore the Dv lottery and Just ask to retire in the US?

A few millionaires I've talked to have said there's a deal where you can retire in the USA if you have X amount of money.

Thanks

The process is that you have to invest a million dollars inot the US economy, invest not throw away (or half of that if you are creating many jobs, ~ 20. ). If you do that you get a EB5 visa which is a green card valid for two years.

Exactly, Angelina Jolie decides she wants to live in the South of France and it's done.

The Beckams (soccer player) want to be in LA and it's done.

This really seems too easy for the ones with a lot of cash.

I had read several times that you can invest as little as $500K in a real business outside a major US city, create 10 jobs minimum and that gives you a case to apply for an investor GC. It's $1M if done the same way but in a major city (NYC, Chicago, LA etc...).

oh well, good for them...

Yes, it's a lot easier for the rich and famous, but: who can blame the US for prefering immigrants that have a positive effect on their economy, etc.??

:Dhe he he he he ! Angelina is freaking HOT and RICH! She could choose to live under your bed and you wouldn't say a damn thing!! But I am sure If you have a million bucks, you too can afford a $3000/hr lawyer like Beckam's. Your lawyers would be ex-uscis guys - the same guys that dream up immigration rules for the rest of us.

Then It's Decided, to move to the USA I will go invest in Real estate and become a millionaire.
Then invest it into the US and get my Greencard.

:D

yeah.....and don't forget to visit the gym. :D A little plastic surgery and new set of cloths could also help.

Oh... and another thing: upgraded, When you do strike it rich and become like Mr. Beckham don't forget the rest of us. Remember your confused, frustrated and lawyerless buddies who toil away in the immigration forums.

Yes, US$1M can be applied for investor visa, but it still take time and background check. I have consulted it , but somehow L1 Visa is easier than investor.

Its like this, if you are an exec of a company and go to the USA on a L1A, then the green card process is very short.

She could choose to live under your bed and you wouldn't say a damn thing!

To tell the truth, I do not know much about this chick, but what I can tell you for sure, my friend, is that whoever tries to get under my bed without my permission will be kicked out of the house in a matter of seconds. Guns are still allowed in our state!

With $1M you don't have to move to usa. There are lots of better countries will welcome you. I think you will stay and live happily in your country if you have that much money right now.

Hey

If you decide to go to US, then you should go no matter how much money you have. It's about the life not about the money, you can be richer than Bill Gates in your country but if you don't like the life in your country there's no point. Not to disagree with someone else but I'm just giving you my point of view.
