Can I hold both H1 and H4?

I applied H4 visa in early April because my job was at risk of being terminated, but in late april I secure my position so I let my
attorney withdraw my h4 visa. The H4 visa still arrived last week,
seem like the INS still not processing my withdraw yet.

So now I have both H1 and H4, which one is valid?
Is it possible INS cancel the H4 when they begin to process my withdraw
 
U cannot have both h1 and H4 at the same time.

Do you have proof of H4 withdrawal? You can call INS and find out whether H4 was approved accidentally. Ask your lawyer to fax an enquiry if tha lawyer is also not sure about your status.
My guess is that your H4 withdrawal is lost and so you are in H4 now.
 
My attorney sent the certified letter to the INS,

so he has the proof that INS got the letter.
Problem is that INS may not open the letter soon enough ,
do you think they will restore my old H1 ?
