Hello Everybody,

I am from Hyderabad.
Currently I am working in Thailand for the last 7 months.
Recently I got H1-Approval and I have to go for stamping.
While filing my papers, they stated Chennai Consulate as the consulate to go for stamping.

My question is can I go to the US Consulate in Thailand for my H-1 stamping.
I would be very thankful if someone can answer this question.

Also any feedback/thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chandanam

I suggest u go to the consulate mentioned in the papers only. The trend has been that even if u go to consulate\embassy in thailand, they might reject it there and re-direct you to chennai. (when i went for my appointment, i met a guy who was re-directed in similar way , he applied in malaysia and he was rejected a visa from malaysia and was asked to go to chennai).

according to the VFS website, if its your first time, then you HAVE to go to the consulate which has jurdistriction over you....in your case chennai.

If you are already living the US, the screen changes to ask "Which consulate do you prefer to go?" there you can choose any of the four consulates.
