Dear firends,
I got my approval notice in my mail today. But I found that there is one spelling error about my first name. I am planning to go for passport stamping next Monday (8/4/03). I like to point this out to the officer since I want my name corrected before the plastic card is ordered. My question is that if they will allow me to get my passport stamped with the wrong name. I really don't want things get complicated at this point.

I -89 is personal

Information sheet based on which they issue the Plastic.......

Then is the best time to correct your information....

If one letter is spelt wrongly, it's their problem. There will be absolutely no problem to you for stampting. Just call BCIS customer service 1-800 number and ask them to correct the spelling. That should take care ofthe issue.
Good luck for your stamping.

Thanks!
I went to BCIS for stamping today. I got called by an officer right after I walked into the door without waiting. She took my passport, I-94 card, approval notice, two photos and advance parole. I was trying to explain the spelling error on the approval notice. She said there is no problem, then she put a note saying what my correct name should be. Then she had me signed a form and finger printed on both sides of the page. I guess that is the I-89 form. Then She stamped my passport. The stamp is valid through 8/3/04. She said I can use it for travelling and work purposes. It totally took less than 15 minutes since I walked in BCIS.

I am glad it is done and just wait for the plastic card. My worries went away. First I considered about the name, second I considered if they are going to question me about the primary applicant. Dsatish, if you saw my previous posts, you know what my fear is. Right now it is all done, I am so relieved. Thanks for all the support from the forum.

Wish all you good luck!
