Can I go for Fingerprinting when 1) my PD is not current or 2) before FP request sent

Hello,

My wife and I are waiting to file I-485 since our PD is not current. In another thread, someone mentioned that they went for Fingerprinting before their PD was current? Is this true? if so, how to do it?

If the above is not possible, can one go for FP right after the PD becomes current and filing the I-485, i.e., pre-empting the notice for FP that is sent by USCIS for I-485 applications.

My question thus is, how proactive can we be so as to minimize RFE and FP requests?
 
Don't worry much about Biometrics .. USCIS will make sure you they have you finger printed and your picture taken.

You cannot go to ASC without the notice for Biometrics.
