I am currently adjusting status from F1 to PR, via USC husband. I was out of F1 status for between 7 and 9 months before I sent my AOS package in (I do not know the exact time because I do not know when my SEVIS record terminated). I just received my AP and EAD (took 40 days from when I mailed my AOS package). I havent received my Interview date yet.

May I resume school using my EAD? My advisor is asking if I would like to continue the program (Masters degree). I have only 6 credits left to complete the degree. Or should I just wait for my GC?

Thank you, RealCanadian. So when I fill out the application, what do i put down to indicate my "legal status". Do I say "I485 pending"? And will I be given a new I20? Thanks for your help.

If you have GC you will qualify for grant, and student loan.

Given only 6 credits left, which is one part-time semester, trying for grants and loans at this point time probably isn't worth it if it means delaying studies until the GC is approved. But that's up to the OP to decide.

LOL ... actually I'm able to pay for the remaining 6 credits, so tuition is not a problem. I would just like to finish and actually HAVE the degeee. Thanks for all your input.
