Hello,

I am an engineer in the US, and I am on the H1 visa and I am about to send my application for canadian PR in.

To be honest with you I am doing the canadian PR thing because I need a "safety net", I don't imagine I will loose my job, but if I do I will be out of status in the us, so I am using canada as one of those things like a last resort. my homeland is not an option.

My main question is, can I get the canadian PR and still work in the U.S.? In other words I was thinking when I get approved for the PR card, I will travel to canada and pick it up and come back to the us and continue my work.

I would appreciate any feedback form anyone experienced in this sort of issues.

Thanks

--- Yes you can do that and many are doing it
According to law one can stay out of Canada 3 years out of any 5 years to maintain Canada Permanent residence status.
