I know that if your beneficiary is present in US you can file both at the same time but if s/he is waiting outside then you are required to file I-130 only.Keep in mind that you have to wait for I-130's approval then wait for visa number to be available, so you are paying fee for I-485 in advance and if your I-130 does not approve then you will lose the fee for it.The only thing I am not sure is that if benefiiciary is out of status what will apply because s/he might be removed or deported and if that happenes how it will effect the whole thing. As you might know the process takes a long time and in most of the cases applicant becomes US citizen before any movement on their I-130 then they can update their I-130 for faster process.
i130 and i485 can not be filed togather, first of all u have to file i130 and once it gets approaved and your visa no. is available then you can file for adjustment of status,i485.
So they won't even consider my I-485 until I-130 is approved and that can happen probably in 4 years
So my husband can apply for citizenship in February, and hopefully by the and of next year he can get it, and everything will go faster then, if i understood well?
Thank you again
