Can I file I485?

Dear all,

I have a question for getting into I485. Now it seems that my PD will be open next month for I485 procedure, but I met a problem right now: my current H1 visa has been expired and my company is applying for the renew for me. I don\'t know how long I am gonna wait for the new H1 visa. I want to know whether I could use my original visa to file I485 or I have to wait for the new one, I would have long way to go if I need the new H1 visa for my case.

Would you please spend sometime to take a look at my case and give me some suggestion about that?

If your H-1 is valid on the date of filing I-485, just put in the current information.

If it not, you must have or would soon receive H-1 extension approval.

This is not a legal advice just verify from your attorney. I think if you or your attorney receives the H1 renewal receipt it may be sufficient. I am not sure to tell you confidently.

send your H1 & H4(if you are married) extension receipts while applying for I485. I did the same thing and already got all My 485 receipts.

By the way, another question, shall I send the original receipt or just the copy thing?
